“ Came here my first night feeling bummed out about not being able to find any vegan options around! This place has a little vegan menu which was super great/ helpful! I ordered the tofu mushroom taco and a side of extra veggies. It was pretty tasty! ”
“ Amazing Spanish rice and fish tacos. Worth every penny of the food and service was great. ”
“ Great fresh, healthy Mexican food. Only seating is at a few benches outside, but it's a lovely place to sit outside. ”
“ The seafood tacos were delicious. I especially enjoyed the shrimp taco. The food was slow to prepare. It took 30 minutes to get our food at lunch time but it was worth it. The ambiance inside isn't anything special. Take it to go and enjoy the sights. ”
“ Best Mexican food on the island! Went twice on our stay. The chicken enchiladas and the enchilada wrap were delicious. Salsas were lack luster, but service is friendly and fast. Good prices as well. Would recommend. ”
“ My family all got tacos here - they were great. I was really in the mood for some tacos and this place hit the spot. Good prices and great food. Fast. ”
“ Came here twice and we loved it both times. I am vegan and from California so I know good Mexican food. I am also so sick of being served white rice at Mexican spots and love that they not have vegan Mexican rice exactly like I remember. First off - there's a dedicated vegan section! Second, the rice and beans are all vegan - zero chicken stock in the Mexican rice and no lard in the beans (refried and whole pinto). I grew up on Mexican food so I adore any spot that has REAL beans & rice I can eat - vegans always get stuck with plain white or brown rice which is somehow worse than Chipotle. I got the vegan enchiladas (sub veggies for tofu) with a side of rice and beans the first time I came here - 10/10! The next time I came in I got the veggie burrito with refried beans and WOW it was so good! Also love the salsa they offer and that the portions are so huge you feel sick LOL The staff is super friendly and helpful, especially since I'm a vegan with trust issues so need to triple-check check the food I order is actually vegan so I don't get sick or compromise on my values. They get it and I love them for that! You can get your food and sit inside their dining area, right outside the restaurant on on the picnic tables all the restaurants share. Don't forget to snap a pic of your food with the gorgeous palm trees in the background! We will come back at least 1-3 times before we leave. It's our favorite restaurant in Kauai! ”
“ I had just finished hiking the coast and was RAVENOUS! The local food looked good but something about a burrito just called to me. The lines were LONG for 11am but it was worth the wait! The burrito was a monster! Bigger than my arm in girth, I really got my money's worth. The hot sauce on the side had a good heat to it that didn't take away from the flavor. The hash browns inside of the burrito made it even more ONO! I am going to recommend this place from now on! Great way to end an epic three day hike! Mahal nui for the good food ”
“ Had to try a Mexican place while in Kauai and chose Frederico's since they offer vegan options! I had the tostada and hubby had the veggie burrito. My tostada was excellent; wish they had a vegan Mexican that serves tostada this way in San Diego. The Rancho on 30th in SD has delicious Mexican vegan but their tostada is mostly beans and the shell breaks apart so fast that you need a fork to eat it. But Frederico's tostada had a crisp, strong shell that holds all the ingredients! The veggie burrito was okay per hubby. And the service is fine; staff seem to follow Covid sanitation process. The big disappointment however is that their salsa did not have any flavor. Great Mexican food needs to come with an equally great salsa and Frederico's failed in this area. Maybe in the future they will improve on their salsa and be a greater place for Mexican/Vegan Mexican food. ”
